Legal guarantee of conformity
All products purchased on pantaleo.it are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity provided for by the Italian Consumer Code. It is your right by law, free of charge and requires no registration.

What it covers
Pantaleo is liable for any lack of conformity that already existed at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within two years. A product is in conformity when it matches the description, quantity and quality stated on the website and on the label.
Legal guarantee and “best before”
The two-year legal guarantee does not mean that our products keep their characteristics for two years. These are two different things:
- the best-before date, shown on the label as “best before”, is the date until which the product keeps its properties when stored correctly;
- the legal guarantee covers defects that were already present at delivery.
Some examples, for a bottle of oil:
- a defect in the closure present at delivery, which spoils the oil prematurely, is covered by the guarantee;
- the natural loss of characteristics after the best-before date is not in itself a defect;
- a deterioration caused by storage other than as indicated on the label cannot be attributed to us.
Each report is assessed case by case, based on the nature of the problem and its causes.
What you can ask for
If the product is not in conformity, you are entitled to have it replaced free of charge. In the cases provided for by law, you can ask for a price reduction or a full refund. All return and reshipping costs are borne by us.
